Our client, a publicly traded, global holding company headquartered in Malta, is currently seeking to recruit a Finance Director to join their dynamic and fast-paced team.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the company’s internal financial reporting process, ensuring alignment with listed company standards.
  • Supervise the Finance Manager, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of monthly management accounts and ad-hoc reports.
  • Oversee daily treasury operations, executing transactions and maintaining visibility of group liquidity.
  • Manage the annual audit process, ensuring adherence to all regulatory filing deadlines.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of quarterly regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and present detailed management accounts, performance analysis, and FP&A reports to the CEO and at quarterly board meetings.
  • Coordinate the preparation of consolidated accounts for group entities.
  • Ensure a robust internal control environment and proactively identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement cost rationalisation strategies across the group.
  • Lead the budgeting process, with regular variance analysis and actionable reporting.
  • Maintain updated cash flow forecasts, supporting capital allocation and investment decisions.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, vendors, and service providers.
  • Implement enhanced management reporting tools to provide executives with meaningful insights into financial and operational performance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, contributing to financial strategy, policy, and decision-making.

Requirements:
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification (a Maltese warrant is not required).
  • Minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience in a commercial finance or audit environment.
  • Prior experience in a listed company or within the investment management industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS, Maltese VAT, and income tax, with experience preparing accounts and regulatory filings to a listed standard.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of delivering complex financial information to executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage relationships with external vendors and negotiate terms effectively.
  • A strong commercial mindset and strategic approach to finance.
  • Familiarity or interest in Bitcoin and digital assets is considered a strong advantage.
  • Must be a native English speaker.
  • Basic knowledge of Maltese company law and reporting requirements with the Malta Business Registry.
  • International experience is an asset but not a requirement.
