Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the company’s internal financial reporting process, ensuring alignment with listed company standards.
- Supervise the Finance Manager, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of monthly management accounts and ad-hoc reports.
- Oversee daily treasury operations, executing transactions and maintaining visibility of group liquidity.
- Manage the annual audit process, ensuring adherence to all regulatory filing deadlines.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of quarterly regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare and present detailed management accounts, performance analysis, and FP&A reports to the CEO and at quarterly board meetings.
- Coordinate the preparation of consolidated accounts for group entities.
- Ensure a robust internal control environment and proactively identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
- Recommend and implement cost rationalisation strategies across the group.
- Lead the budgeting process, with regular variance analysis and actionable reporting.
- Maintain updated cash flow forecasts, supporting capital allocation and investment decisions.
- Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, vendors, and service providers.
- Implement enhanced management reporting tools to provide executives with meaningful insights into financial and operational performance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, contributing to financial strategy, policy, and decision-making.
Requirements:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification (a Maltese warrant is not required).
- Minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience in a commercial finance or audit environment.
- Prior experience in a listed company or within the investment management industry is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS, Maltese VAT, and income tax, with experience preparing accounts and regulatory filings to a listed standard.
- Proficiency in financial reporting systems and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and high accuracy.
- Outstanding communication skills, capable of delivering complex financial information to executive stakeholders.
- Ability to manage relationships with external vendors and negotiate terms effectively.
- A strong commercial mindset and strategic approach to finance.
- Familiarity or interest in Bitcoin and digital assets is considered a strong advantage.
- Must be a native English speaker.
- Basic knowledge of Maltese company law and reporting requirements with the Malta Business Registry.
- International experience is an asset but not a requirement.
