Our client, that operates within the public sector, is seeking to recruit a Court Litigation Manager to lead its legal proceedings and support its enforcement efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all court-related procedures within the enforcement function.
  • Draft, file, and manage judicial acts and legal documentation.
  • Represent the firm in court sittings and liaise with external counsel as needed.
  • Oversee the publication and updating of appeal notices and court decisions.
  • Manage and guide the Court Litigation team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Coordinate resources, conduct performance reviews, and hold one-on-one meetings.
  • Evaluate ongoing operations and report to senior management.
  • Participate in internal management meetings and recruitment interviews.
  • Work closely with other units and external agents to gather case-related documentation.
  • Support officers attending court proceedings.
  • Monitor external legal fees and recommend training initiatives for the team.
  • Participate in the Compliance Monitoring Committee (CMC) when required.
  • Provide legal counsel to senior management and the Board of Governors.
  • Represent the firm in international working groups and external legal forums.

Requirements
  • Education: LL.D. or M.Adv. degree (or equivalent MQF Level 7 or higher legal qualification)
  • Warrant: Must be registered or warranted to practice law in Malta.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years in a legal role, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of AML/CFT legislation, EU directives, and relevant domestic laws, especially in the financial and gaming sectors.
  • Skills: Excellent legal drafting, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Languages: Fluent in both Maltese and English.
  • Technical: Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard office software.
