AIMS International Malta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Manager for one of our clients within the Luxury Tourism Industry.
The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and delivery of month-end and year-end financial results. A key aspect of this role is training, guiding, and leading the accounting team while maintaining open and effective communication with colleagues both locally and overseas.
This position requires the ability to prioritize effectively, maintain a hands-on, flexible, and independent work mentality, and manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate is proactive, confident in their abilities, possesses strong communication skills, and is comfortable answering questions and providing clear explanations. Excellent presentation skills are essential, as delivering financial presentations and insights to management will form an important part of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of 20+ professionals, ensuring requests and tasks are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
- Report frequently to management, both locally and overseas, on day-to-day operational and financial matters.
- Oversee the audit process, including coordination of meetings with auditors and ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Drive the team to meet various deadlines, including internal reporting, VAT, tax, and other regulatory submissions.
- Assist with local and foreign tax matters as required.
- Review statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Review month-end results prepared by the team and maintain open communication with Head Office.
- Participate in the recruitment of team members and conduct or attend periodic performance appraisals.
- Propose process improvements and operational changes to management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Demonstrate strong PowerPoint skills to create clear, concise presentations for senior management.
- Communicate confidently and effectively to ensure messages are delivered with clarity and impact.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant with over 10 years of experience in accounting and in a management position.
- Experience in the tourism industry is preferable, though not essential.
- Experience in accounting matters across different jurisdictions will be considered an asset.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Thrives in a fast-paced working environment and demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willing and available to travel at least three times per year.
- Demonstrates personal credibility, integrity, and high moral standards.
- Results-oriented, responsible, highly meticulous, and detail-oriented.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
