Our client is looking for a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). As the MLRO, you will be responsible for ensuring that the AML / CFT Policies and Procedures are maintained on an ongoing basis in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and guidance.
Responsibilities- Ensuring that the AML / CFT Policies and Procedures are maintained on an ongoing basis in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and guidance;
- Onboarding of new clients. Sign off Client Risk Assessment (CRA);
- Recommending to the Board any changes that may be required to existing policies and procedures including those identified from monitoring updates to the various legislation;
- In conjunction with the compliance function, carry out an on-going review of AML / CFT / Sanction controls and suggest additional controls as may be necessary;
- Ensure that findings are reviewed and impact considered to determine if changes may be required to policies, procedures, controls, training, etc.;
- On-going review of effectiveness of training to determine areas where additional training may be required;
- Preparation of training materials as relevant;
- Provide guidance and support to client service teams in accordance with the firm’s Policy and Procedures;
- Attend relevant committee meetings as required;
- Prepare management information and board reporting as required;
- Day to day responsibility for the ongoing training and management of any junior members of the team;
- To complete and investigate items presented in the form of a suspicious activity report (“SAR”), to include receipt of any such document received and to remind the correspondent of their responsibility in relation to any tipping off aspects
Requirements
- 2+ years of local experience.
- Ability to take decisions, guide the board members and company into proper regulatory environment
- Experience from financial and corporate services would be a great advantage;
- You have self–awareness and you understand the impact you may have on others;
- Through great communication skills, you can influence ‘Management’ and ‘Executive’ level colleagues, both internally and externally;
- Able to tactfully deal with situations should they arise in the immediate team;
- Ability to engage and build credibility with internally influential individuals
