Responsibilities:
- Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on EU and international AML/CFT legislative and policy developments, and identifying implications for the organisation and Malta’s compliance framework.
- Drafting, negotiating, and maintaining Memoranda of Understanding with foreign counterparts.
- Coordinating bilateral and multilateral meetings with international counterparts to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices.
- Preparing agendas, minutes, follow-up actions, and technical documentation for high-level meetings and international engagements.
- Assisting in responding to queries, questionnaires, and information requests received by the organisation.
- Supporting preparations for mutual evaluations, peer reviews, and technical assessments.
- Representing the organisation in the international fora, working groups, and committees related to AML/CFT.
- Assisting internal functions with the transposition and implementation of international and EU AML/CFT standards, including directives and regulations.
- Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned by senior management.
Requirements:
- MQF Level 6 qualification in International Relations, European Studies, Law, Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and office automation tools.
- Sound understanding of AML/CFT legislation in Malta, EU frameworks, and international standards.
- Strong analytical, research, and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
- Previous experience within a regulatory authority, government body, EU institution, or international policy environment will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of relevant EU legislation and/or familiarity with sectors supervised by the organisation will be considered an asset.
