Responsibilities:
- Manage the full-cycle Accounts Payable process, including invoice processing, approvals, payments and reconciliations
- Continuously supervise, train and mentor the team to enhance work quality, reduce errors and achieve department goals
- Monitor Accounts Payable aging reports and resolve discrepancies or overdue accounts
- Prepare and maintain weekly cash flow forecasts
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers
- Review bank reconciliations for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in month-end and year-end reporting
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of various VAT jurisdictions
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and records
- Prepare and present Accounts Payable reports, dashboards and analyses for management review
- Identify opportunities to optimize AP processes and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency
- Collaborate with procurement, corporate and other departments to ensure smooth operations and successfully execute various accounting tasks
- Develop, enforce, and monitor Accounts Payable policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks as required
Requirements:
- Applicants must be halfway through the ACCA qualification.
- Applicants must have at least 4 years of proven relevant experience.
- Have solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team leadership and vendor relationship management
- Demonstrate effective workload prioritization, delegation of tasks and organizational skills
- Be able to perform effectively under pressure and meet established deadlines
- Be detail-oriented, analytical and with strong problem-solving skills
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Knowledge of NetSuite will be considered an asset
