Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial data analysis to support business decision-making.
- Prepare management reports and deliver insightful commentary to clients.
- Ensure financial statements comply with relevant accounting standards.
- Maintain and update accurate accounting records.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely manner.
- Assist in income tax calculations and submissions.
- Manage day-to-day accounting processes and workflows.
- Utilize appropriate accounting software for reporting and analysis.
- Supervise, review, and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Provide training and support to junior team members.
- Ensure compliance with internal audit and external audit requirements.
- Prepare and coordinate documentation for auditors.
- Uphold internal controls and financial procedures.
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or ACCA qualification (or near completion of ACCA)
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the Maltese market
- Solid understanding of Maltese accounting standards, VAT, and tax regulations
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero and strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple client needs
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- A Maltese driver’s license is considered a plus
