Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, liaising with clients and handling various requests in a timely manner.
- Supervision and coaching of junior accountants, including review of their deliverables.
- Responsible for planning of deliverables of client portfolio, can work on own initiative, prioritize own work and meet deadlines.
- Report to management with portfolio updates and assist in monitoring team economics.
- Preparation of audit files for audit and liaising with client auditors.
- Preparation of monthly payroll.
- Preparation of management accounts in accordance with relevant accounting frameworks.
- Assistance with presenting management accounts to clients.
- Preparation and submission of clients’ VAT Returns and Recap Declarations.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years’ of accounting experience in Malta in a similar role.
- Bachelor's degree or are in the process of obtaining an Accounting Qualification (University Masters in Accountancy/ACCA or similar Qualification).
- Familiarity with payroll processes and preparation of tax computations/tax returns will be considered an asset.
- Exceptional communication skills in written and spoken English and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- The capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks while adhering to statutory deadlines.
- Proficiency in standard office software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) is required.
- Proficiency in accounting software (XERO) will be considered as an asset.
