We are assisting one of our respected clients seeking a Senior Accountant to support their team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients (posting of invoices, reconciliation of bank statements, handle workings for accruals and pre-payments).

  • Preparing monthly/quarterly detailed management accounts, liaison with the auditors and reviewing financial statements under IFRS and GAPSME framework.

  • Compiling and submitting VAT returns.

  • Compiling and submitting tax returns and tax refund claim forms.

  • Reviewing work carried out by the Junior team members with attention to detail.

  • Liaising with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.

  • Communicating with clients to acquire the necessary paperwork and documentation to complete the accounting and corporate tax returns.

  • Reviewing and verifying clients’ tax forms to ensure their proper and timely submissions.

  • Researching tax laws and regulations while seeking the advice of the accounting manager and/or director when dealing with particularly challenging tax matters.

  • Assisting clients with benefitting from any applicable tax credit schemes.

  • Responding to notices from tax authorities and liaising with the relevant entities.

  • Assisting non-financial managers or team members with the interpretation and provision of financial data.

  • Performing and/or supporting ad hoc requests by management in line with the job designation of an Accountant and its required skill set.

  • Understanding and being well-updated about the firm’s service lines and actively assess and present ways to apply the relevant knowledge and necessary services.


Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and GAPSME).
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, management accounts, and tax compliance.
  • Ability to review and supervise junior team members’ work with attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of VAT, corporate tax, and tax refund procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and external auditors.
  • Strong research skills in tax laws and regulations.
  • Problem-solving mindset when dealing with challenging tax matters.
  • Ability to explain financial data to non-financial managers/team members.
  • Adaptability to handle ad hoc tasks within the accounting role.
  • Proactive approach in keeping updated with the firm’s services and applying them effectively.
