Our client, is looking for a Motor Claims Manager is responsible for leading the Motor Claims function through expert technical oversight, strong people management, and high-quality decision-making. The role requires advanced competency in motor liability, bodily injury (BI) assessment, operational control, and stakeholder management, driving performance through sound judgement, leadership, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads complex and high-value motor claims, including BI, liability disputes and catastrophic losses
  • Applies BI jurisprudence and internal methodologies consistently and accurately
  • Reviews survey and repair assessments to ensure correct reserving, cost control and recoveries
  • Provides escalated technical guidance and represents the company in Maltese and English courts
  • Manages legal correspondence and supports litigation strategy with external lawyers
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Drives leakage reduction, SLA compliance and operational efficiency through file reviews and controls
  • Oversees vendor performance, negotiations and cost optimisation initiatives
  • Leads, coaches and develops the Motor Claims team, including onboarding and upskilling
  • Acts as key liaison between Claims, Underwriting, Finance, Digital and Customer Service
Requirements:
  • 7–10 years’ experience in senior motor claims roles, including team leadership and operational oversight
  • Degree in a relevant field (MQF Level 6) with a recognised insurance qualification (e.g. Cert CII)
  • Strong technical knowledge of motor liability, vehicle repairs, BI calculations, VAT and insurance regulations
  • Fluent in Maltese and English with strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Experienced in claims systems, estimating tools, MS Office and analytics platforms
  • Proven track record in cost control, vendor management and budget monitoring
  • Analytical and solution-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
  • Commercially aware, focused on cost efficiency and process improvement
  • Leadership-oriented with experience coaching and developing teams
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, particularly in legal matters
