Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Guidance and Outreach Team within the Legal Affairs Section.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement annual guidance and outreach programmes to enhance awareness of AML/CFT obligations among subject persons.
- Draft and maintain internal policies and procedures and ensure regular review.
- Lead the development of AML/CFT studies, research papers, and training materials.
- Represent the organisation in AML/CFT training seminars and events hosted by local and international stakeholders.
- Manage the administration of Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives under the team’s remit.
- Liaise with the Legal and International Relations Team to stay abreast of EU and international AML/CFT developments.
- Monitor and disseminate relevant guidance, reports, and documentation from EU institutions, FATF, MONEYVAL, EGMONT and others.
- Respond to queries from subject persons and internal departments and assist in interpreting AML/CFT requirements.
- Maintain records and statistics related to outreach initiatives and training events.
- Coordinate with competent authorities on joint AML/CFT outreach efforts and initiatives.
- Support and participate in public education campaigns, university lectures, and research activities in the field of AML/CFT.
- Assess and address internal training needs of the team, and support the development of internal training plans.
- Guide and lead the team by setting targets, providing mentorship, and conducting regular performance reviews.
- Assist in managing the Legal Affairs Section by coordinating operations and resources and acting as a liaison for internal and external communication.
Requirements:
- MQF Level 6 qualification in Law, Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, Audit, Insurance or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or senior role.
- Strong knowledge of Maltese and EU AML/CFT legislation and international standards.
- Familiarity with financial services regulation and supervised sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Maltese or English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and office automation tools.
- Technical competence, leadership capability, and strong ethical values.
- A pleasant personality and good moral character.
- A Warrant to practice as an advocate in Malta will be considered an asset.

- Sep 15 – Dec 31: 08:00 – 17:00
- Flexible working hours available during both summer and winter periods.
