Responsibilities:
- Review monthly management accounts for the European entities to ensure accuracy of technical provisions and reasonableness of non-technical postings.
- Review P&L variance analysis and BS reconciliations at month end.
- Support the forecasting and budgeting process.
- Produce monthly cash flow analyses and forecasts.
- Review Group deliverables before submission to the FC, Europe
- Prepare minutes of Reserve Review meetings.
- Manage the members of the European Finance team and identify their personal development needs. Monitor and mentor the AFCs to ensure their performance meets the required standards.
- Conduct premium, commission and reserve reviews, to identify key movements, understand variances and make recommendations for adjustments if required.
- Support the review of current process and identification of opportunities to deliver efficiency and understanding through enhanced analysis/reporting.
- Perform monthly operational analyses of the European entities.
- Ensure accuracy of data within the underwriting system.
- Review financial and claims data for internal and external actuaries to support the reserving process before submission to FC, Europe.
- Assist in providing greater insight and analysis into business performance through the implementation of new MI reports, financial models and processes.
- Participate as required in evaluation of new systems integrations.
- Assist in the establishment of and compliance with relevant internal controls and procedures.
- Perform ad hoc analyses and deep dive reviews as required by Management.
- Individual performance objectives will be set on an annual basis.
- As a minimum, part ACCA qualified.
- Insurance experience (2-5 years)
