Our client, that operates within the public sector, is seeking to strengthen its Supervision Section with the addition of an Associate.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute compliance examinations, following internal procedures, to assess subject persons’ adherence to AML/CFT obligations and the adequacy of their control frameworks.
  • Analyse examination results and prepare detailed compliance examination reports in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the Supervision Committee and Compliance Monitoring Committee, contributing to discussions on examination outcomes.
  • Advise and assist subject persons in establishing appropriate AML/CFT structures and controls.
  • Support the Risk Team with risk assessments, verification procedures, and feedback, and assist the Remediation Team with follow-up on compliance examination results.
  • Liaise, coordinate, and cooperate with Competent Authorities including the MFSA, MGA, Sanctions Monitoring Board, NCC, the Malta Police Force, and others as required.
  • Deliver and participate in training for subject persons, supervision officers, and other supervisory authorities.
  • Assist in evaluations and assessments carried out by local and international bodies such as the EU, Egmont Group, MONEYVAL, and FATF.

Requirements:
  • MQF Level 6 qualification in Risk Management, Banking & Finance, Financial Services, Audit, or a related field, plus at least 3 years’ relevant experienceOR
  • MQF Level 5 qualification in the same areas with at least 4 years’ relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of AML/CFT laws in Malta, international standards, and EU legislation.
  • Experience in AML/CFT checks, report writing, or audit engagements, with familiarity in sectors such as gaming, TCSPs, investments, or virtual financial assets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong analytical and report-writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A clean criminal record.
