AIMS International Malta is pleased to be assisting our client who is seeking an Assistant Manager to join their accounting team.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of agreed-upon services, including bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, tax filings, payroll processing, and management reporting.
  • Proactively identify and resolve client issues, concerns, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Lead the process of onboarding new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and a clear understanding of service agreements.
  • Review and approve work prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accountants and bookkeepers.
  • Assist with setting goals and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for the team.
  • Assist in allocating tasks and managing workloads to ensure deadlines are met and resources are utilized efficiently.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Highlight opportunities for process improvements within the department to the senior manager or director.
  • Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and other relevant regulations to ensure client and firm compliance.

Requirements:
 
  • Qualified Accountant (Master’s in Accountancy) or ACCA.
  • Warranted.
  • 3–5 years’ experience, ideally in an accounting firm, CSP, or similar environment managing a portfolio of clients.
  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Proficiency with accounting software packages (e.g., Sage Evolution) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
