AIMS International Malta is pleased to be recruiting an Accounting Manager on behalf of our client operating within the Financial Services industry for their local office. 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing and nurturing relationships to understand their needs and provide tailored accounting solutions.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, IFRS and other regulatory standards.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and integration of their financial records into our systems.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes for multiple clients, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Review of clients’ bookkeeping, VAT returns and payroll.
  • Facilitate and coordinate external audits for clients, liaise with auditors, and ensure the implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Assist clients in preparing budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and financial insights to support their business decisions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls for clients to safeguard their assets and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
  • Ensure clients' compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations for clients.
  • Oversee the accounting systems and software used by clients, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive financial services and support for client projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee the accurate review of employee timesheets to ensure compliance with internal policies and client agreements.
  • Prepare and issue client invoices based on approved timesheets and contractual terms, ensuring timely and precise billing.
  • Actively participate in the performance management process for team members, including goal setting, progress reviews, and feedback sessions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; ACCA.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a client service environment/client accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
