Our client, a well-established provider of business and commercial services in Malta, is looking to hire a Senior Executive - Tax.
The Senior Executive must have at least 3 - 4 years of experience who want to continue nurturing and growing their career in Technical advisory. Naturally they need to have experience in tax compliance to be able to advise from a technical point of view.
Responsibilities:

Assist clients with areas of direct taxes.

Seeing to the needs of clients and prospective clients in the best possible manner and efficiently.

Assist in the tax compliance work review such as income tax computations and claims for refund amongst others.

Provide technical tax advice to clients on domestic and international tax matters, including structuring options, tax implications of transactions, and interpretative positions.

Assist in research and analyse changes in tax legislation, guidelines, and case law, ensuring clients are informed of relevant developments and their potential impact.

Draft technical memos, tax opinions and advisory notes with clear conclusions supported by legislation, precedent, and administrative practice.

Assisting private clients with their fiscal obligations in terms of the various tax residency schemes applicable at the time.

Support clients during tax audits and investigations, including preparing technical arguments, documentation, and liaising with the authorities where required.

Ensure high technical quality in all deliverables, including compliance review, advisory notes, and client communication.

Contribute to the development of internal technical knowledge, including delivering training sessions, preparing technical updates, and mentoring junior staff on technical areas.

Maintain a high level of professional and ethical standards, ensuring that technical advice is accurate, compliant, and aligned with regulatory requirements.

Be a point of reference for company employees on tax-related issues.

Manage and coach junior team members.

Anticipate problems and provide solutions.

Liaise with auditors.

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time, subject to these being within the professional competency of the Employee.
Requirements:

A qualification from the University of Malta in Accounting or ACCA.

Minimum 3-4 years of local working experience in a similar tax role.
