Our client, a reputable Corporate Services Provider in Malta, is looking to recruit a Head of Tax Advisory.

This senior leadership role is responsible for building and growing the Tax Advisory line of business, leading service development, managing client relationships, and positioning the firm as a market leader in tax advisory solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, expansion, and strategic direction of the Tax Advisory line of business.

  • Build and lead a team of tax professionals, ensuring continuous professional development and high-quality service delivery.

  • Develop technical tax knowledge within the team and ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, including FATCA, CRS, DAC, ATAD, Transfer Pricing, Pillar 2, and other emerging frameworks.

  • Provide advanced tax advisory services to a diverse client portfolio, including corporate clients, international groups, and high-net-worth individuals.

  • Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide practical, commercially sound recommendations.

  • Represent the organisation at conferences, seminars, and meetings to promote the firm’s tax expertise.

  • Develop and implement tax-related processes, procedures, and advisory methodologies.

  • Identify, pitch, and secure new business opportunities in line with the company’s growth objectives.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to expand integrated service offerings.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals to potential clients.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and business collaborators.

  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and opportunities to support business development and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant or tax professional with a minimum five years’ experience in taxation.

  • Possession of a professional tax qualification is preferred; candidates without the qualification must demonstrate strong technical experience and be willing to obtain certification.

  • Strong leadership capabilities with proven experience in building or managing a department or business line.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify business opportunities and drive growth.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and relevant business development tools (e.g., CRM systems).
