Our client, a boutique accounting and consultancy firm seeking an ambitious Accounts and Payroll Executive to support their finance department. You will work within a team of professionals responsible for maintaining and managing clients’ financial records

 Responsibilities:

  • Process and post invoices and journal entries to ensure accurate recording of all transactions;
  • Maintain an organised filing system for all invoices, both physical and digital;
  • Update accounts receivable and issue client invoices;
  • Update accounts payable and perform regular reconciliations;
  • Assist with the review of expenses, payroll records, and other assigned tasks;
  • Update financial data in relevant databases to ensure accuracy and immediate accessibility;
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports;
  • Prepare monthly or four-weekly payroll as required;
  • Assist with work permit applications and submissions;
  • Liaise with clients’ financial auditors as needed;
  • Support clients’ day-to-day operations and follow up with third parties and clients;
  • Assist with banking-related matters;
  • Support Directors with general accounting and payroll duties.

Requirements:

  • MQF Level 5 qualification in accounting or currently pursuing ACCA;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities;
  • Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset;
  • Strong numerical skills and analytical thinking;
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft applications;
  • Knowledge of Shireburn and Xero is an asset;
  • Willingness to learn additional accounting and payroll systems as needed;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and handle confidential information with discretion;
  • Good command of both Maltese and English;
  • Own transport and willingness to visit clients’ premises when required.
